September 2022 Ripley County EMA staff Randy Miller, Todd
Schutte, and Rich Corkhum visit the National Weather Service
office in Wilmington Ohio. The purpose of the visit was to
discuss weather preparedness and to renew the “NWS StormReady”
status for Ripley County which must be completed every 4 years.

July 2022 Ripley County 4H Fair

EMA Director, Kurt Enneking with Ripley County Sheriff’s office,
Jason Smith with Ripley County EMS, and Leah Hildebrand conduct
safety training for county employees.
October 2021 Ripley
County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and the Local Emergency
Planning Committee (LEPC) in conjunction with Jefferson County
and Switzerland County Emergency Management Agency and LEPC
participated in contingency planning exercises and "tabletop"
exercises which was designed to enhance skills for planning and
managing an emergency response utilizing the incident command
structure.
May 2021 The Ripley
County EMA and the Ripley County Communications Center (RCCC)
conducted a tabletop exercise to practice coordinating response
and recovery efforts during a simulated disaster. Communication
plans, policies, and procedures were accessed, communications
equipment was tested, and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
was activated.

2016 INDOT Earthquake Exercise

The Ripley County Community Foundation has
awarded a grant of $3395.00 to Ripley County Emergency Management Agency
for the purpose of programming local Law Enforcement 800 MHz radios.
Congratulations and "Many Thanks" to Mr. Joseph Wayne Peace, a RCEMA
liaison and former Director, being a 2016 Ripley County IN. Bicentennial
Torchbearer!

(South Ripley), SRO Brent Casebolt (JAC-CEN-DEL) and Ripley County EMA
Director J. Patrick Rose participated in the Virtual Tabletop Exercise
(School Hostage Focus) conducted at the Regional Operations Center. The
exercise was facilitated by the Emergency Management Institute, Maryland
and involved multiple emergency operations centers from eight different
states.

EF-1 (Manufactured Home)
estimated wind speed of 90 mph and EF-0 (Barn) Tornado estimated wind
speed of 70 mph. Responding agencies were Napoleon Volunteer Fire
Department, Ripley County Sheriff's Office and Ripley County EMA.

October 2013 Ripley County Annex Fire Drill

Ripley County LEPC
representatives from Ripley County Sheriff Dept., Ripley County EMA &
Ripley Co. Health Dept. along with Ripley MRC & Southeastern Career
Center HOSA students attended the 20th Annual Ag Day on 10/2/2013 @ the
Ripley County Fairgrounds. Third graders from all the schools in the
county were invited to participate in the day long field trip that
teaches them first hand important issues from ATV safety, importance of
agriculture & personal Preparedness Tips including how to
Shelter-In-Place. Ripley County FFA chapters form local schools sponsor
this event.
